Millions are at risk of losing their sight
In Ghana, millions are at risk of losing their sight due to a severe lack of eye-care facilities, especially in low- and middle-income communities. With a shortage of healthcare professionals and many facing financial barriers, access to proper eye care remains a critical issue.
Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness in the country, responsible for 55% of cases. Tragically, about 30% of the population cannot afford the necessary treatments

													Providing the necessary tools
We are addressing these gaps by providing the necessary tools, including Slit Lamps and Tonometers, which are essential for diagnosing most eye diseases.
With these tools, the PLF Ophthalmology Clinic can now offer comprehensive services, ensuring that more individuals receive the care they need.

 - Supports the WHO Global Eye Health Action Plan, which calls for integrating eye care into broader healthcare systems to reduce the burden of blindness.
