About Us
A Safe Harbor in Kalangala
In the island district of Kalangala, Uganda, geographical barriers and high orphan rates—affecting nearly 39% of children, create immense hurdles to education and safety.
To address this, Light For All Switzerland has partnered with Life with Purpose (LWP) NGO to establish a structured residential student hostel. This initiative marks a strategic shift from individual sponsorships to a sustainable community model, providing vulnerable children with a safe home, nutritious meals, and direct access to schooling.
Our Focus
Island challenges
Many children face dangerous, multi-hour commutes between islands to reach a classroom often leading to school dropouts

- Beyond shelter, the hostel offers a holistic development hub including medical check-ups
- academic tutoring and psychosocial support
- By eliminating the fatigue of long commutes, we are ensuring these students have the "ray of light" they need to focus on their future
